The Three Gorges Project has attracted worldwide attention and has extremely high requirements for product quality and technology. Most of its hydropower transmission projects use ultra-high voltage levels of 500,000 volts. Since Nanjing Electric (Group) Co., Ltd. sent the first batch of tempered glass insulators to the Three Gorges Hydropower Transmission Project in 1997, it has provided 1.18 million tempered glass insulators for 31 500 kV lines of the Three Gorges Hydropower Transmission Project, accounting for approximately the insulators used in the project. 60% of the total, accounting for about 80% of the total glass insulators used in the project, and the length of the line exceeds 5,200 kilometers. It has contributed to the localization of the mechanical and electrical equipment of the Three Gorges Project and achieved good economic and social benefits.
